If only you guys knew the trouble that I went through to get these lip colors! ColourPop had a 30% off sale this weekend and once I had added everything in my cart and then the worst thing possible happened. THE. SITE. CRASHED! I guess what had happened was with Colourpop being such a small company and announcing the sale on their social media pages the minute it started they did not have a large enough bandwidth for everyone who was trying to access the site.
Anyways, now on to the good stuff! I bought three different lip formula’s this time around: Ultra Matte Lip’s, Ultra Satin Lip’s, and Ultra Matte X!
Let’s start off with the Ultra Matte Lips:
The first lip color that I purchased was the Colourpop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Scrooge $-6. It is described as a rich rosy pink! I really love how smoothly this lip color applies especially since it is a Ultra Matte Lip. I was worried that this lip color would be similar to More Better (one that I shared in my Spring CP post), but this one is definitely a lighter pink, where as More Better is darker and more purple. The only thing that I do not like about this lip color is that it does stain my lips after I remove it, but other than that I definitely recommend this color!
The next color that I purchased was Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Mars -$6 and it is described as a red fuchsia. I wanted to go out of my comfort zone and purchase something different that what I would normally wear! I love this color because it is super flattering despite the fact that it is Neon, but I am going to be honest, the formula sucks.
The next color that I picked up was Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Succulent- $6 and it is described as a neon orange red. Just like Mars, the formula sucked and this one was super patchy and streaky to apply. I think that I have come to the conclusion that the formula of the Neon’s colors are not going to be up to par compared to the other formula’s in the matte collection. This color also flaked off my lips throughout the day. Therefore, I do not recommend this color.
The last Ultra Matte lip that I purchased was Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Kae-$6 from Karrueche Tran’s collaboration with Colourpop, called KaePop. I thought to myself, what an odd name for a lip color but then I finally got the pun. Her names is Karrueche, hence the name of the three colors lip colors in her collection, Kae-Rooch-Chi. DUH! Kae is described as a deep warm yellow brown which makes it a perfect color for the fall! I seriously can not wait to wear it more often!
Now moving on to the next collection, Ultra Satin Lip’s!
While I do love a good matte lip, the formula of the Ultra Satin lip is great because it sits comfortably on the lips without drying them out. This color is Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in The Rabbit-$6 which is described as a bright fuchsia with a subtle blue sheen. Correct, me if I am wrong, but I assume that they are paying homage to the Energizer Bunny. I get so many compliments at work when I wear this lip color!
The last Ultra Satin Lip that I purchased was Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Panda-$6. Panda is described as a deep pink violet. I was very hesitant to pick up this color since it is indeed purple (it looks even more purple in person!) but the minute I put it on all my worries went away! Super pretty and it applies very smooth! Something that I might note as a fair warning is that when compared to the Ultra Matte Lip’s the Ultra Satin lips do transfer but you will not have to reapply!
And last but not least, the last lip collection Colourpop Ultra Matte X Lip’s!
I am not quite sure if you guy’s remember but in my Spring Colourpop post I purchased the Lippie Stix which I admitted I did not like because they smelled gross and were not truly matte (even though Colourpop Lippie Stix Matte X in Love Life- $5. Love Life is described as a brownish brick red, but in my opinion I also see hue’s of orange in it! I love this color because I feel like I have nothing on my lips! I am definitely interested in purchasing more of these but I hope that they make more colors that are warm-toned because the rest of the colors in the collection are cool toned.
they claimed to be) They came up with a new matte finish for the Lippie Stix called MATTE X . From the tube they look exactly like the Lippie Stix but they are so much better as they are actually MATTE (hence the name Matte X) and they do not have that gross plastic vanilla smell! Literally no scent what so ever!
Last week, Colourpop Cosmetics launched their Ultra Glossy Lip lip glosses! You can check them out HERE. I definitely have my eyes on Wolfie, Weho, and Honey B! Earlier this month they also launched their metallic lip collection. You can check those out HERE.
